Satan’s Part in God’s Perfect Plan. The Old Testament prophets provide more details concerning the “bruising of the heel” of Satan’s destroyer. The strategy was so successful that Satan has consistently used it on humanity. Satan is the prime example of. And GOD gave humanity a light by which to steer. GOD gave it the knowledge of. Truth from which it had set out. He gave it the concept of good and the concept. He said: . But follow in your heart the concept of evil, and you. Me. For though I have created evil for your choice, evil is not of Me; it is of. Satan, who is the Devil, and must for you be the Enemy so that yon do not follow. Him. And humanity felt the conflict of good and evil; discomfort now with the promise. And humanity found that choice was not the easy sense of power. For the. power to choose is the burden of responsibility ; there cannot be one without. Humanity had sought the power; now it was saddled with the burden. Each man saw himself the victim. Each man saw his life as the sum total of the decisions. And humanity's choice was manifested when each man blamed another for his own. For blame is the ultimate rejection of responsibility. Blame is the detonator or all evil. All sin stems from blame. All destruction. stems from blame. Unless a man reels the need to blame there is no destruction. And humanity chose to blame. Humanity felt the need to blame. Each man blamed. another, who blamed him in return. Humanity began to pattern the future course. Blame became the common. Hell. And blame begets ignorance, because in order to blame, a man must know the power. If he. knows that he has chosen to suffer, he cannot blame his suffering on someone. So humanity became blind to its own reality, for fear of having to bear the. We must all accept responsibility! So he closes his eyes again, and finds someone to blame. It is the fault of our President. He. is to blame for the hopeless state of our nation. Sometimes there is. Why- deep down- do we need to blame one. And if anyone WERE to ask the question: . It is buried too deep beneath the centuries. Many would reply. Many would find countless reasons, countless rationalizations. But no one. would know the answer. Humanity has traveled too far along the path to be able. The true reason is. You can tell a man why he blames, and he might understand with his intellect. FEEL the. reality of what you say to him, he will not feel it inside himself so that his. Humanity has sunk. The cancer has taken hold, and man has trapped. Nothing can save him. So the end of the road has been reached; the climax of the easy way, the point. Satan has triumphed over man. Judgment and the Devastation of the world of men. For the world of men is a place of darkness and misery and pain and anguish. For the world of men is Hell. The earth is Hell, and man has made it so. Copyright 1. 96. 8; The Process, Church of the Final Judgment. The book of Hebrews states: “But to which of the angels has He ever said: . So we see from the Bible that spirit will not die. The devil was at one time a righteous angel! Therefore, he, too, is a spirit being. The prophet Ezekiel spoke of Satan before he rebelled. We are told he was an “anointed cherub . However, at some point this high- ranking angel became corrupt. He turned egotistical, violent and selfish. Lucifer sinned against his Creator. And in doing so, he became Satan, meaning “adversary” (International Standard Bible Dictionary, article “Satan”). Other scriptures indicate that Satan convinced one- third of the other angels to join his rebellion in an attempt to overthrow God (4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King James Version . Because of his rebellion, God said to him: “I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain . Let us see how Satan could be destroyed, even though he is a spirit being. How is Satan destroyed? To understand this apparent contradiction, we need to consider the contextual meaning of the Hebrew word translated “destroyed.” This Hebrew word, ’abad (Strong’s #6), is commonly used in the Hebrew Scriptures and may be translated “to perish, to vanish, to destroy or to put to death” depending on the context and the verb stem in the Hebrew (The King James Version Old Testament Hebrew Lexicon). In the context of this passage, Satan was “destroyed . When we compare what is said in Ezekiel 2. Satan’s fate, it becomes clear that God is going to eventually bind the devil permanently, rendering him useless in terms of continuing to deceive humans. Many centuries after Ezekiel penned his prophecy, Paul wrote to the Corinthians about Satan, calling him “the god of this age” (whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King James Version . This scripture and many others prove that the devil was alive and actively opposing God on earth during the life of Paul and the rest of the apostles. Moreover, Satan remains alive and committed to the destruction of God’s Church and its saints today (Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King James Version . Christ’s death facilitates this action. As the writer of Hebrews explains, “Through death He . The word translated “destroy” is from the Greek word katargeo, meaning “to render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative; to cause a person or thing to have no further efficiency; to deprive of force, influence, power” (The New American Standard Greek Lexicon). Even though Satan will not die, God will render him useless in his efforts to deceive humans by restraining him along with his angels. As Jude confirms, “And the angels who did not keep their proper domain . The Scriptures do not tell us what Jesus said to them. Perhaps it was a warning and reminder of their fate. Peter also mentions these demons as being those who sinned and were cast down to “hell” along with their leader, Satan (For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King James Version . The word hell in this passage is translated from the Greek verb tartaroo, and it indicates a condition of restraint for spirit beings. This is the only place in Scripture this word is used. Peter actually borrows it from Greek mythology and applies the word in a completely different way than pagan traditions did. But the concept of “restraint” would have been familiar to his audience, and it was an effective way to make the point. The current restraint apparently limits Satan’s access to God’s throne (see Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord. New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King James Version . Go out and do so.’ Therefore look! The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you.”New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King James Version . So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible, New King James Version . Revelation 1. 2 implies that Satan and the angels that followed him fought the righteous angels, as well as God Himself, before the creation of Adam. The same reference implies a follow- up rebellion at the end of the age, just before Christ returns. Again, what Peter wrote agrees with the other writers concerning the destruction of Satan by binding or restraining him. The devil’s powers are limited to what God allows to fulfill His purpose. Satan restrained for 1,0. Jesus prophesied through John of a future time when Satan would be bound for 1,0. During this time he will not be permitted to influence humanity in any way—not until the very end of the millennial rule of Christ on the earth.“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while” (Revelation 2. Why will God release Satan at the end of the Millennium? The Bible does not give the answer, leaving us only to speculate on the purpose. It is clear, however, that after the 1,0. He will be allowed to deceive the nations one last time. Since God only allows Satan to do what fulfills His will, whatever happens will work toward His purpose. The devil will successfully manage to agitate nations to rebel against God’s government at Jerusalem in a final attempt to destroy the saints and eliminate Christ’s rule. What is Satan’s destined end? The Bible shows that the devil will not die, but rather that he will suffer torment. After Satan’s deception following the 1,0. The fire will have no effect on him because he is spirit. Torment, not death. On one occasion during Christ’s earthly ministry, several demons asked Him a question. And suddenly they cried out, saying, ? Have You come here to torment us before the time?’” (Matthew 8: 2. The evil demons that possessed these two men knew that their future fate would include some sort of torment. The demons did not say to Christ, “Have you come here to kill us before the time” or “to totally abolish us before the time”; but rather they asked, “Have you come here to torment us before the time?”A place of never- ending torment is what many wrongly teach is the fate of humans who reject God’s offer of salvation. Humans can die; they do not live forever in torment.)God will destroy the “works” of the devil. The apostle John wrote, “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3: 8). Notice John said that God will destroy the works of the devil, not the devil himself. When writing to the Galatians, Paul spoke of the normal, natural acts of humans apart from God, called “works of the flesh”: “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness . All of these evil actions represent the works of the devil. Humans who refuse to repent of these works will be destroyed forever. So, how is Satan destroyed? From all we have seen, both the Greek and Hebrew Scriptures reveal that Satan, as well as his demons, will be spiritually bound and constrained by God in darkness forever. Satan’s influence, his deception and his evil works will be eliminated and destroyed forever. However, Satan and his demons will, as spirit beings, continue to exist, albeit in a tormented state of mind—a just punishment administered by an all- powerful and righteous God.
